GUSTAV_ introduces a new, sustainable way of preparing coffee. Powered by innovative compressed air technology, Gustav operates entirely without electricity, making it both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. Using a vortex tube, the introduced compressed air is set into rapid rotation, generating hot air. This hot air heats the water in the tank, while the integrated grinder processes fresh coffee beans. The result is an espresso that impresses both in flavor and technology. As a central design feature, the water tank is intentionally highlighted through the minimalist design and clear form language, putting the innovative technology on display. This creates a visually engaging experience, allowing users to observe the inner workings of the machine. Gustav was developed as part of a group project, combining diverse ideas and expertise to create a product that is as functional as it is aesthetically appealing.
With its unique, furniture-inspired design, Gustav adapts flexibly to any environment – from living spaces to offices. Unlike traditional coffee machines, Gustav is not confined to the kitchen. Thanks to its thoughtfully designed stand, it can be placed in a variety of spaces, seamlessly integrating into different rooms. The name, inspired by the Italian word “gusto” for taste, reflects its mission to turn coffee drinking into a special, social experience.
