KAMPENBANK_ The bench on the mountain has been resting in the heights for years and has hardly changed in its design language. It remains in a state of constancy and immutability. The Kampenbank, designed for the Kampenwand in Chiemgau, exploits this potential and turns the bench itself into the destination of a hike. Proverbs such as “The summit is the goal” reflect classic alpinism, which defines the summit as the goal. However, the Kampenwand in particular, whose summit requires easy climbing or a difficult hiking trail, remains out of reach for many. A deliberately positioned viewing bench, on the other hand, invites you to linger. With individually adjustable backrests and additional elements such as a table, the viewing direction and use can be freely adapted, making the bench not only flexible, but also actively incorporating the architecture of the landscape.
The two-part laser frame made of galvanized steel forms the basis of the Kampenbank. Thanks to its low weight, small pack size and the plug-in seat surfaces and attachments, it can be assembled alone with minimal impact on nature. Height-adjustable feet ensure stability, and the two-part frame allows different lengths to be realized. The regional production and well thought-out concept make it a practical and adaptable solution for mountain regions.
As an open design concept, the bench encourages creative co-design by residents and users. Individually designed attachments or alternative materials bring variety, while the metal frame defines the basic proportions, so each bench remains individual while at the same time blending harmoniously into its surroundings.
